A principle for you to ponder !!
"Participation WITHOUT involvement breads cynicism"
The principle comes from Matthew 6:21;
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Our treasure is our energy, our caring and concern for our church, business, organization, or marriage...
When we invest the treasure of our energy, our heart follows.
Involvement is: "I'm in", "I care about this", "I have pride of ownership"
Participation only, is: "I'll probably be there", "I hoper it's good, but in not, so what", "I don't have a dog in this fight".
The next time you feel yourself sour and becoming cynical about something, check your level of involvement. Is your heart really in this ?
